Born in Worcester, Massachusetts. Graduated from Cornell College in 1919. Founded Damon G, Douglas Construction Co. in Newark in 1931. Married Susan Post Havey (1900-1962) on May 21, 1922.
Served on the ANA Board 1943 to 1944. He received the Medal of Merit in 1948. Fellow of the American Numismatic Society. Past president of New Jersey Numismatic Society. Past president of New York Numismatic Club, 1949-1951. He was instrumental in placing a commemorative plaque at the former site of the Rahway Mint in 1954.
His New Jersey coppers were sold in the June 1975 Stack's Kissner Sale. His unpublished manuscript on NJ Coppers was issued by the ANS in 2003 with Gary Trudgen as editor.
