£22,100 in indented typeset bearer certificates issued for military and public expense. These were redeemable by Nov. 1, 1782 and receivable as specie in payment for purchases of confiscated Tory estates. Denominations inserted by hand. Signers were Joseph Habersham, Lyman Hall (signer of the Declaration of Independence), Jared Irwin, (Semie Ross), and George Walton (signer of the Declaration of Independence). Some signatures on certificates are written by an amanuensis or are forged. This issue is fiscal paper rather than circulating currency.
