Bons designed as Solde de Troupe issued about 1760-1765 in livres, sols, and deniers as monthly pay for soldiers at Fort Chartres on the eastern bank of the Mississippi River just below St. Louis. Signed by Joseph Lefebvre (Lefevre), Commander of the French Illinois Country. Numbered but not in convenient denominations to promote use as a circulating medium.
