£55,000 in legal tender Bills authorized during the Session ended Nov. 3,1755 and good until Jan. 1, 1760. This emission and those in the four subsequent years were primarily to support military expeditions during the French and Indian War. These emissions were to be redeemed by tax levies, as distinguished from Loan Office operations. Penn Arms are on the face and a nature print on the back. The number of Crowns is keyed to each of the four highest denominations. See August 10, 1739 issue for spelling and type style variations.
