Haseltine did not number his sales until the 4/6/1882 sale (#59). Sale #4 was a fixed price list. Numbers here from 11 to 58 agree with John Adams United States Numismatic Literature (vol. I). Numbers below 11 sometimes differ from Adams, since Haseltine specifically assigned sale #8 to the 2/25/1873 Chubbuck sale on the list of prices realized. The 9/22/1884 Thomas Birch sale is often included with the Haseltine catalogs as Haseltine revised the manuscript.
